Triumph Motorcycles has announced updates and additions to the Tiger 1200 family for 2024, increasing the range’s sophistication and sophistication. The updates include additional engine improvements, improved ergonomics and comfort, increased ground clearance during turns, a lower seat height with Active Preload Reduction, and eye-catching new colours.

Engine

Triumph’s 1160cc triple engine maintains the thrilling and distinctive triple character of its T-plane crank while providing an even more refined riding experience with better low-speed control.

Triumph engineers were able to improve low-rev torque delivery by changing the crankshaft, alternator rotor, and balancer to increase engine inertia. They also made some calibration adjustments to the engine. Customers will notice an increase in smoothness when accelerating or decelerating, especially at low speeds. A revised clutch design will also result in a smoother engagement when riders shift into first gear.

Comfort

Triumph has also improved the Tiger 1200’s all-day comfort for riders seeking long-distance touring capability. Thanks to an updated engine balancing strategy, the engine is now even smoother and more refined, improving comfort across all the important rider touchpoints.

The GT Pro and Rally Pro now have the popular dampened handlebars and risers from the Explorer models, which provide a smoother ride and better visibility in the mirrors.

Seat

With a flatter profile and more space for the rider, the redesigned rider seat should reduce fatigue on longer rides. Furthermore, the accessory low seat has been designed to be far more comfortable. It lowers the seat position by 20mm, resulting in the lowest seat height on the GT Pro and Rally Pro at 855mm and 830mm, respectively. In addition, a longer clutch lever has been added, giving riders more space for their fingers and increasing comfort—especially on longer trips.

By raising and relocating the footpeg positions of the Tiger 1200 GT Pro and GT Explorer models, Triumph has also improved the bikes’ cornering ground clearance. By lowering the seat height by up to 20mm while the Tiger 1200 slows down to a stop, the new Active Preload Reduction feature—which was unveiled in August 2023—gives riders more confidence. All it takes is a single, brief press of the “Home” button on the switch cube to activate this feature.

With new colours for 2024, there are currently four variants of the Tiger 1200 available. Designed to be the ideal road-focused adventure vehicle, the Tiger 1200 GT Pro and GT Explorer are now offered in vibrant Carnival Red in addition to the previously offered Snowdonia White and Sapphire Black. Perfect for an all-terrain adventure, the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro and Rally Explorer come in the trendy new Matt Sandstorm and Jet Black colours in addition to the well-liked Matt Khaki.

The most recent generation Tiger 1200, which debuted in 2021, was intended to be the most capable, nimble and manoeuvrable large-capacity adventure motorcycle on the planet.
