Triumph Rocket 3 STORM GT AND STORM R

Engine & Wheel

With a 2,458cc engine, the largest production motorcycle engine in the world, the new Rocket 3 Storm R and GT gains 15 horsepower at peak power, generating a powerful 182 horsepower at 7,000 rpm.

Additionally, torque has been increased by 4 Nm, peaking at a low of 4,000 rpm at 225 Nm. With a maximum torque throughout the mid-range and a flat, rich torque curve, this engine provides effortless response in any gear and explosive acceleration.

The sportier ten-spoke cast aluminum wheels on the Rocket’s 17- and 16-inch front and rear wheels reduce unsprung mass.

This decrease enhances the Rocket’s already remarkable agility by having a positive effect on steering response when moving. Cast and forged components give the sturdy and light aluminum frame, which debuted in 2019, an outstanding torque-to-weight ratio.

The new Rocket 3 Storm models have a moody color scheme and superb detailing, building on the popularity of the blacked-out special edition Rockets that were released recently.

There are three unique two-tone color options for each model, and the large 18-liter tank bears the new Storm name.

The R comes in three color options: Sapphire Black with Granite, Satin Pacific Blue with Matt Sapphire Black, and Carnival Red with Sapphire Black. The same colors are available for the GT, but the tank’s split is inverted, giving both models a unified, eye-catching appearance and uniform color selection. Additionally, the Rocket 3 Storm has excellent black finishes all around.

Along with being new for 2024, the Rocket 3 Storm now meets or surpasses the most recent Euro 5b regulations thanks to its liquid cooling, low emissions, and superior fuel efficiency.

HANDLING

With a fully adjustable rebound and compression damping as well as preload, the Showa mono-shock RSU and piggy-back reservoir utilize the Rocket’s outstanding performance to provide a controlled and obedient ride. Large 47mm Showas forks with rebound and compression damping adjustments are used.

Top-speculation radial Brembo Stylema brake calipers with twin 320mm discs deliver exceptional stopping power.

Excellent airflow is provided by these small, lightweight, and highly effective calipers to keep pads cool during aggressive riding. Larger and more capable than the front brake setup on many bikes, the Brembo M4.32 4-piston radial monobloc rear caliper and 300mm rear disc contribute to the enormous stopping power.

The Rocket 3 Storm still has all of its ABS cornering functionality optimized.

ERGONOMICS

Because of significant variations in their ergonomics, every Rocket offers a unique feel and personality. The roadster rider position and handlebar placement of the Rocket R

are engineered to deliver maximum power and control, resulting in a comfortable and captivating ride. For a more upright riding position, the GT has a slightly more swept-back set-up than the R,

with a 125mm grip position difference.

Additionally, each model has a unique seating configuration with high-quality cast aluminum seat finishers painted black. With a roadster rider and pillion seat that is 773mm tall, the Rocket 3 Storm R provides comfort, confidence at low speeds, and maneuverability.

With a more plush pillion seat and an adjustable pillion backrest, the GT boasts a sculpted touring rider seat. With a seat height of only 750mm, the GT significantly enhances rider comfort.

The locations of the footpegs on the two models differ most. To accommodate riders of all sizes and provide a natural and athletic riding position, the R features mid-foot controls with two settings that allow for 15mm of vertical adjustment.

The GT’s foot controls are positioned forward for a relaxed, custom bike feel. Its three horizontal position settings allow for 50mm of adjustment, allowing you to find the ideal position for extended rides. The retractable pillion footrests on the R and GT models are stylish, blacked-out, and innovative.

STYLE

The Rocket 3 Storm is a prime example of flawless engineering and unmatched attention to detail, setting the standard for superior finish. The Rocket 3 Storm’s components, which range from the hydro-formed exhaust headers to the black powder-coated intake cover,

have all been meticulously selected with an unwavering focus on detail to deliver a blacked-out attitude.

The top-notch black anodized finishes on the Rocket 3 Storm also include the swingarm guard, rear frame forging, fork lowers and yokes, risers, and handlebar clamps, RSU Rocker, seat finisher, footrests & hangers for the rider and pillion, brake and gear pedals, levers, and side stand.’

Both Rocket 3 Storms have twin LED headlights with the Triumph maker’s mark triangle and signature-shaped daytime running lights (DRL),

which enhance the bikes’ aggressive stance and attitude. The rear light, number plate light, and LED indicators provide a remarkably unique light signature.

TECHNOLOGY

Rider-focused technology enables riders to confidently tap into the incredible performance potential of the Rocket 3 Storm, from lean-angle sensitive ABS and traction control to switchable throttle maps and intuitive cruise control.

While the Rocket’s high-performance gearbox is designed with helical cut gears to smoothly transmit the enormous torque to the rear wheel, ride-by-wire improves rideability, safety, and control. With the Torque Assist clutch, riders can shift smoothly and quickly up and down the six-speed box. An accessory that fits both models is the Quickshifter.

For improved stability, both models have traction control and ABS with cornering optimization. This improves acceleration, braking, and straight line and cornering performance. When the bike detects that the rider is about to take off, Hill Hold applies the rear brake to stop the bike from rolling backward. Both have four riding modes: rider-configurable, which modifies the traction control and throttle map, and road, rain, and sport.

Additionally, an electronic cruise control system is installed as standard. With a single button press, the speed can be started, stopped, and changed in 1 mph increments. It can also be resumed with the same button press.

A five-way backlit joystick and a fully functional full-color TFT setup are features shared by both models.

With two information layout design themes and a simple, elegant design, this offers optimal visibility for riders of all heights thanks to its adjustable instrument angle setup.

The rider has the option to add their name to the message displayed on the startup screen.
Both bikes come equipped with a steering lock that can be disabled and keyless ignition as standard features for added security.

In order to extend the battery life and improve security, the key fob can also be turned off. Additionally, a USB charging port can be found in a special area beneath the seat where

gadgets can be kept dry and secure while being charged.
