Who is Mohan Yadav?
Dr Mohan Yadav, a three-time MLA from the Ujjain Dakshin (south) constituency and a former cabinet minister in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government will be the new Madhya Pradesh chief minister, state BJP chief VD Sharma said on Monday, December 11.
Ending days of anticipation, outgoing chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan proposed the name of Yadav for the top job at the meeting of the newly-elected MLAs in the evening in Bhopal in the presence of BJP’s central observers—Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, OBC Morcha President K Laxman, and Secretary Asha Lakra.
BJP’s MLA from Rewa constituency, Rajendra Shukla, and former Madhya Pradesh minister Jagdish Deora will be the deputy chief ministers of the state, Sharma added.
From Student Politics to Cabinet Minister
Dr. Mohan Yadav, the current Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, has a long and distinguished career in politics. He began his journey as a student leader, serving as the City Minister of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Ujjain in 1984.
